Jerin was born over 20 Turns ago to Jerlan and Rinnada at Southern Boll. A prankster of a kid, he got into a lot of trouble, enough so that his parents shipped him off via wagon to Fort Weyr to get a job and behave himself. The trip wasn't without its dangers, dampening some of the boy's spirits. Upon arriving at Fort, then-Weyrwoman Kira got him situated in the Weyr and got him a job helping out.
A month later, Jerin was playing in the lake with some others of the Weyr, when Nayda's Kerejeth decided to Search him. Not believing his good luck, Jerin worked diligently at his chores. He wound up impressing his bronze firelizard in this time. When the day of the hatching arrived, a blue and a bronze looked him over, but neither of them chose him. Jerin slumped into despondency. He didn't know what to do, really. He did his chores in a lackluster fashion for a long time. The only joy in his life at that time was meeting Jacendra. The two spent a lot of time together, until Jacendra left the Weyr in mysterious circumstances. Jerin was once more left alone. He was still a candidate at Fort, yet he didn't actually decide to stand until the day of the hatching of Amieth and Aragoth's eggs.
When the hatching actually began, Jerin just stood on the sands, not really paying any sort of attention. He believed in his heart that he shouldn't've been on the sands, that he would just walk away alone again. However, he was more than pleasantly surprised when a meticulous bronze came up to him and said, << My name is Mezanth. I'm hungry. >>
J'rin's life was transformed. He and Mezanth spent the next two Turns learning about each other, and about how to be the best dragon pair they could be. Unfortunately, J'rin got a bit behind on his lessons, and wound up graduating the last of his class of riders. However, he bounced back, especially when Jacendra returned to the Weyr toward the end of his weyrling training. The couple promptly weyrmated, and Mezanth was quite willing to let Jace 'share' his rider.
The next few Turns saw life return to somewhat resembling normal. J'rin was promoted to Weyrsecond when T'den's Azhreth flew Iria's Sioneth. During this time, he impressed gold Jezra, and Jacendra impressed green Jeriel. Later, J'rin became Firedancer wingleader, and he gave a small egg from Jezra's first clutch to Jacendra. This egg surprisingly hatched gold Jaire.
Recently, Ista Weyr experienced a disaster. Most of the Weyr was ruined, and the Firedancers were called upon to help out. Because many of his wingmates came from Ista, J'rin requested a full-wing transfer to the devastated Weyr. In honor of the skiff of a brownrider's dead sister, the wing chose a new name: Wavecutters.
With Jacendra's Impression of Green Jielth at Fort Weyr, she has become a rider and has joined J'rin at Ista. They live together with their firelizards in one of the choice forest weyrs. The family has become closer after Jielth's maiden flight (which Mezanth won) when it got out that Jace was pregnant. Of course, J'rin just goes mental whenever children are mentioned and becomes completely useless. Typical male.
Jacendra gave birth to twins: Raisa and Jerion. Unfortunately, only Jerion lived to wake his parents at night. J'rin was transferred to Tempest Wing with his Wingsecond D'rik. D'rik was promoted to Weyrsecond, and Ophelia was then made Tempest Wingsecond soon after her graduation. Recently, J'rin and Mezanth were threaded in a Fall accident and J'rin stepped down from wingleadership. He got D'rik to give the job to Ophelia, despite her youth. J'rin and Mezanth are currently recuperating at the Weyr, grounded.
