Frostith the Dragon, was a jolly happy soul
With a wedge-shaped head and a button nose
And two eyes that glowed like coals...

Frostith the Dragon, was a harper's tale they say
His hide was ice blue, but the children knew
How he came from 'tween one day

There must have been some magic
In that old tap'stry they found
For when they looked at it quite hard
He began to fly around.
Oh Frostith the dragon was alive as he could be
And the children say he could flame and play
Just the same as you and me.

Frostith the Dragon knew the Star was close that day.
So he said let's fly and we'll have some flame
Now before I go away.
Down through the cotholds, with firestone in his maw
Flying here and there 'tween to everywhere
Saying flame Thread if you can.
They followed past the Holds of Pern
Right past the Harper Hall
They only paused a moment
When they heard Jas holler Halt! For
Frostith the Dragon had to hurry on his way
So he went between, hide an oily sheen,
He'll be back again someday.
