Eligon was born 20 turns ago in Southern Boll. A lanky lad, he spent most of his time out in the jungles around his home, poking around looking at bugs, plants, or just about anything of interest. A very studious lad, he seemed perfect for a craft, with a keen mind for detail and a very large hide sketchpad for his scientific observations. He did not spend a lot of time ogling the girls at the Hold, but instead, when he was 16, he headed north to the Fort area, intent on applying to either the Harper or Healer Halls. Master Mayre borrowed one of his sketchpads for awhile, and the young man spent his time helping out at Fort Hold and got to go to Fort Weyr, where he did some in-depth studies of dragon and firelizard behavior.
Eligon's life was changed one day, when he was back at Harper Hall, for Kyrie and Moiraith showed up, and Moiraith refused to leave without the young lad. He was taken to Ista Weyr, and began his days as a candidate. He made friends with only a couple of his fellow candidates, most notably Kalona. However, he did not expect to stay at Ista very long, so he used the opportunity to study the dragons up close again.
Eventually, the day of the hatching arrived. With a strange calmness that the other candidates could not achieve, he went on the sands with them. He watched the first dragon break shell, and then another, and another. He was surprised when a brown headed his way and announced, << My name is Kerrth. I'm terribly hungry. >> E'gon was so stunned that he barely noticed the rest of the hatching, even his friend Kalona's impression to green Branwenth.
E'gon's weyrling training did not go smoothly. He spent a lot of time thinking that Ellya was doing her best to make sure that he got singled out for punishment, but eventually, the two worked things out, and E'gon finally graduated into the Phoenix wing at Ista. He also impressed his two firelizards, Soprano and Woodsmoke. Recently, E'gon was transferred to former Weyrleader T'nar's wing, the Sphinx.
