Arawyn, Lady of Fort Hold, was born less than 20 Turns ago to Arinol and Dawn, Lord and Lady Igen. Arawyn grew up at Igen, immured to the heat and sand, until her 15th Turnday, when she was fostered to her uncle, Lord Xoran of Fort. She spent her time at the Fort learning other ways to Hold and to learn the abilities of the fostered lordlings, her potential husbands.
She rebelled against the pressure to marry and found herself attracted to Fort Hold guard Ravan, much to the dismay of her uncle and parents. After a few months, she bullied Xoran into accepting the relationship. However, Ravan was taken away to Fort Weyr on search. Unfortunately, he did not return, even after not impressing at the hatching.
A Turn later saw drastic changes to Arawyn's life. Xoran had fallen ill, and Masterhealer Sharayah pronounced him unfit to Hold. Much to the Conclave's consternation, Xoran chose Arawyn publicly as his successor. After an emergency session of the Conclave, they had no choice but to Confirm the girl, being the nearest legitimate relative who actually bothered to work on the Hold.
These days, Arawyn shuttles between Igen and Monaco Weyr. Fort Hold was hit by the deadly plague that has decimated the population. Fortunately, Arawyn was not at the Hold when the disease struck, leaving her free to work on getting aid and supplies flown in with the help of the Monaco dragons, in the face of Fort's queen, Timorth, grounding her Weyr to avoid any more deaths of Fort riders and dragons. Arawyn has been run ragged with guilt over not being at Fort, and stress from the massive organization project on her hands. Hopefully, she can find half a second to relax once and awhile.
