Elizabeth Braddock was born in Braddock Manor with her twin Brian on April 23rd, 1956. The twins had a fairly normal English childhood, ganging up on their elder brother Jamie fairly often when he was around. Betsy herself grew up to become one of Britain's most famous models, once being named 'Britain's Most Beautiful Woman'. However, Betsy was a mutant, and this fact changed her life. She gave up her modelling career when STRIKE recruited her for their psi-corps. After losing a close friend (and possibly lover), she went into seclusion for awhile. Her psilink with Brian was shattered when he became Captain Britain, but she regained it when she was reunited with him after the Jaspers Warp was dealt with. Betsy and Brian had a falling out when it came to what to do with the children of the Warp. She eventually took his place as Captain Britain briefly, until the crimelady Vixen had her pet assassin Slaymaster literally gouge her eyes out. Betsy then went into seclusion again with a cute agent of the RCX, the successor to STRIKE. She was then kidnapped by the 'fat blob' Mojo and given new bionic eyes. She was rescued from the Wildways by the New Mutants and went on to join the X-Men after managing not to get killed by Sabretooth. She had a gentle loving relationship with Doug Ramsey of the New Mutants for awhile. Betsy finally decided to be a warrior and fight for her beliefs after a fight with a creature named Horde. She stood with the X-Men in Dallas and was one of those killed by Forge in his effort to seal the Adversary in another dimension. She went with the team to Australia, and eventually was reunited with the rest of the X-Men in New York City during Inferno. The team eventually disintegrated. After a fight with Nimrod and much of the team in disarray or thought to be dead, she passed through the Seige Perilous. From there, her body and soul were mixed around by Spiral for Matsuo Tsurayaba, and she wound up in the body of Kwannon, his assassin and lover. She was nearly enslaved to be the Mandarin's assassin, but Wolverine broke her free. She returned to the X-Men, which had reunited again. From there, she spent her time trying to fit back into the expanded team structure. She also had a thing for Cyclops, nearly ruining his relationship with Phoenix. Her original body with Kwannon in charge eventually returned, and the truth concerning the mind fusion and the body switch was aired out. During this time, she started dating Warren Worthington III, two blue bloods deciding to fly above the rest. Most recently, she fought with Sabretooth again. This time, she lost and was nearly eviscerated. Spending a long time in a coma, she was eventually reawakened by being exposed to the Crimson Dawn. It is uncertain what effect this will eventually have on her.
